Training Slip Collar
Slip Collars, more specifically Dominant Dog Collars (DDC) are designed for training purposes. They are ideal for teaching leash pressure and obedience. A DDC is a slip collar with a clasp on it for easy donning to avoid slipping the collar over the dogs head. Many dominant dogs do not like gear being slipped over their head. A DDC is designed to fit snug behind the ears at the top of the neck, they tighten as the leash is pulled to give corrective feedback to the dog. Slip Collars are designed to get tighter as a dog pulls. This serves different functions, one, it is great for dogs with small heads like Grey Hounds, preventing them from slipping out. Another use is for safety in triggering situations for reactive, timid or aggressive dogs, Slip collars will prevent your dog from escaping or backing out in a high drive situation due to the cinching function. As for dogs that pull, slip collars may prevent pulling when combined with proper training techniques. Slips and Martingales are the number 1 recommended collar/leash style by top trainers. All dog gear is sewn on industrial equipment using marine grade thread in Gilbert, Arizona, USA.
