Active ingredients include:

Green Lipped Mussels
Green Lipped Mussels are a species of mussel native to New Zealand.  Omega-3 fatty Acids. Omega-3s work by reducing the level of inflammation associated with diseases such arthritis.  This is the same compound found in fish oil, however it combines with other compounds found in the mussel that also fight joint inflammation and pain.  A good example of these compounds is eicosatetraenoic acid, or ETA. The ETA is found only in green lipped mussels and binds cyclooxygenase, which is an enzyme that causes inflammation.  Green lipped mussels have also been shown to contain glycosaminoglycans which have been shown to have joint protective properties.

Eggshell membrane
Eggshell membrane is the small, thin layer inside of the egg.  It contains everything that any mammal consuming it would need to maintain or rebuild joints. It's actually about 70% protein, and that protein is collagen.

Collagen
Collagen is useful for many functions in the body, especially to maintain elasticity in the joints.

Elastin
Elastin is a protein that supports skin, cardiovascular, cartilage, and spinal health. Elastin is also what gives tissue its elastic tension and ability to bounce back after stretching.

Amino Acids
The Amino Acids we’ve included in this joint supplement are specifically desmosine and isodesmosine. These two amino acids are responsible for elastin’s properties.

Glycosaminoglycans
Including glucosamine, chondroitin, and hyaluronic acid. These are vital polysaccharides that support the connective tissue, interstitial fluids, and skeletal structure of the joints, and help with mobility, range of motion and flexibility.

Glucosamine (as Glucosamine HCl)
Glucosamine will help your dog produce more cartilage cells and synovial fluid, which helps in the lubrication of your dog’s joint to lessen pain. It improves your dog’s general joint health and keeps your dog’s performance in peak condition. Glucosamine can also help in the treatment of spinal disc injury. With the increase of joint repair surgeries, glucosamine can help make the post-surgery recovery less painful since it reduces joint inflammation.

Hyaluronic Acid (as Sodium Hyaluronate)
Since it retains water, this acid promotes lubrication and strengthens connective tissue, while also decreasing joint inflammation. Other benefits are:

  • Lubrication – The sticky fluid provides great lubrication for the hip and joints.
  • Shock Absorption – The fluid acts as a shock absorber and reduces potential inflammation
  • Chondroitin Sulfate
Chondroitin Sulfate (Bovine

Chondroitin Sulfate (Bovine) is one of the building blocks of cartilage, meaning it helps maintain the thickness of your dog’s natural joint lubrication. It helps give structure to the cartilage and gives compression resistance to the joints.
